Angie Sweeney

Angie Sweeney brings a wealth of experience to her role as Project Director at the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR). With a strong background in case management and financial management, she has dedicated over a decade to supporting homeless and vulnerable populations in Palm Beach County.


Angie's career began as a case manager for a permanent supportive program serving chronically homeless individuals, where she worked for two years. She then became the Lead Case Manager at the Lewis Center’s Homeless Resource Center of Palm Beach County, a position she held for five years. Transitioning to financial management, Angie served as a Residential Services Director for over seven years and as the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Manager of the Financial Department for two years. In these roles, she oversaw, renewed, and administered over $4 million in government grants and private funds for housing services for homeless adults and youth. She was pivotal in implementing a low-income housing program for developmentally disabled individuals. She collaborated with community partners, landlords, and other non-profit organizations to address homelessness in the community and administered over 150 residential leases and renewals across Palm Beach County.


Angie holds a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and is certified as a NAMI Peer-to-Peer Train the Trainer professional. Her dedication to continuous improvement and peer support exemplifies her commitment to serving the community with effectiveness and compassion.


Transitioning to financial management, Angie served as the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Manager of the Financial Department. In her role at FARR, Angie is responsible for the management, reporting, and compliance of government contracts. She supports subcommittee initiatives related to government and private grants, philanthropic reporting, and the implementation of deliverables. Additionally, she provides a supportive role within the Education and Outreach Team, coordinating efforts to ensure everyone has the resources they need to contribute effectively throughout the state of Florida.


What Angie enjoys most about her job is the "paycheck of the heart" she receives from knowing that residents have a safe place to focus on their recovery. Working with an incredible team makes coming to work a pleasure and reinforces her commitment to making a positive impact.

Outside of work, Angie is a proud mother of three daughters and a grandmother. Born in Colombia, South America, she has lived in Palm Beach County for 16 years and speaks fluent Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys binge-watching TV shows, staying connected with her family, playing with her Labrador Bear, and visiting her parents on weekends.
