Travis Benfaida is a Florida Board Certified Recovery Support Specialist and currently serves as the Chief Executive Director at Legacy Healing Center. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the College of Public Health at Florida International University (FIU) in 2018.

Travis’s passion for helping others in their recovery journey stems from his own personal battle with addiction. After sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament while playing basketball at The University of Central Florida, he became dependent on opioids and struggled with addiction for five years. In 2012, Travis was introduced to recovery through the South Florida treatment model, and his life was forever changed. With the grace of God, the support of Alcoholics Anonymous, and his personal determination, he will be celebrating eleven years of sobriety in April 2023.

Having transformed his life from a place of darkness and depression to one of gratitude and enthusiasm, Travis’s experience, compassion, and leadership have enabled him to cultivate a positive and supportive work environment for his staff, clients, and their families. His focus on compliance, quality care, and patient well-being has become the foundation of his leadership philosophy.
